A Report On The Translation Of Political News For Huanqiu Website From The Perspective Of Adaption Theory

It is acknowledged that globalization has made world political,economic and cultural exchanges linked inextricably.News,through various media,helps people record changes,spread information and reveal trends.With the development of China’s reform and opening up,Chinese are paying more attention to the global developments,besides focusing on the progress of China.In recent years,the political situation of world has become grim and the influential international events have been frequent.International political news is the first method which conveys the news and reflects changes to the world.In order to ensure the accuracy and smoothness of information transmission in cross-cultural and cross-language news communication,news translation plays a crucial role in this process.Guided by the Adaptation Theory founded by Belgian linguist Jef Verschueren,the report selects Politics News from Huanqiu website as a text.Adaptation Theory thinks that the use of language is the process of language selection and adaption.In the same way,translation is also a process of adaption.The whole process of translation is a process of translators’ continuous choice of linguistic structure and dynamic adaptation to the environment.Such adaptation includes language structure adaptation and context adaptation.The purpose of this paper is to make rational use of adaptation theory to guide and analyze the translation strategies adopted in the translation practice,and improve the readability and acceptability of news translation through combining adaption theory with specific news translation practices,accordingly providing some new ideas to the study of political news translation.The report includes four parts: the first chapter is the description of translation tasks,it mainly introduces the background of practice and news characteristics through analyzing the features of the words,syntactical features and textual structure of political news;the second is the description of the task process,including the preparation of translation theory and professional knowledge of news translation,translation process and proofreading;the third chapter is the translation case analysis,analyzing specific translation practices of political news on Huanqiu Website from language structure adaptation and context adaptation on the guidance of adaptation theory.On the aspect of language structural adaption,the paper analyzes the methodsof political news translation from choice of words,sentences and its application on the news title.On the aspect of context adaption,it explores the concrete and feasible translation strategies and elaborates the application in the practices from two parts:linguistic context and cultural context;chapter four summarizes the translation practice,the feelings and experiences of the practice.Hope the translation report can be a reference for political news translation.
