| Explicitness is an unavoidable phenomenon in translation.It refers not only to expressing the meaning of the source language,but also to expressing the inferential information implied in the source language,supplementing or emphasizing an element in the source text by adding words.In recent years,more and more scholars have begun to pay attention to this phenomenon,but most of them focus on the phenomenon of explicitation in translation.In fact,it is also common in interpretation.Taking Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s press conference in 2018 as an example,this thesis analyzes three types of explicitation phenomenon in Chinese-English consecutive interpreting corpus and summarizes the methods of realizing explicitation phenomenon into three levels in order to achieve effective communication in Chinese-English consecutive interpreting.According to Professor Klaudy’s classification of explicitation,the author studies 3 types of explicitation in the Chinese-English consecutive interpretation corpus.Through the analysis,under the guidance of Gile’s comprehension equation,the author divides the methods of realizing explication into three levels: linguistic level,extra-linguistic level and interpreter’s strategic explicitation.In order to better convey the meaning of the source language,in C-E consecutive interpreting,interpreters can use relevant interpreting strategies to make the source language information explicit in interpretation.Through the analysis of the cases,interpreters can take into account the language in linguistic and extra-linguistic level to express the implicit information in the source language,and make up for the errors in interpretation through the explicit strategies made by the interpreters,so as to achieve the fluency and effective communication of interpretation.It is hoped that this study will enrich the study of interpretation explicitation and contribute to the development of interpretation theory and practice in the future. |
