| Monk Sengyu,as one of the most famous monks in sixth century,had written eight books in his hole life.There were The History of Buddhist Texts Translation,The Genealogy of the Buddha,The World Beginning,The Monks of Sarto,Buddhist doctrine Collection,The monks of Third to Sixth Century protected Buddhism,Buddhist books Collection.Especially,the majority of them had been lost.Luckily,three of them had been existed.They are The History of Buddhist Texts Translation,The Genealogy of the Buddha and The monks of Third to Sixth Century protected Buddhism.The written methods of these books are very special.There are three features.Firstly,in order to write credible books,Sengyu collected plentiful Buddhist texts and used annotation to correct the mistakes of texts.Secondly,he arrayed these texts in different location and made up new stylistic rules and orders.Thirdly,he copied these texts and deleted those redundant things which he thought about.These methods are come from the Chinese Classics and the Traditional Historiography.And these books included the thoughts of Sengyu. |
