One of the most important goals of TCSOL is to cultivate and improve the communicative competence of foreign students.The improvement of language communicative ability is not only reflected on the pronunciation,vocabulary and grammar of a language,but also closely related to the deep culture,after all,language cannot exist without culture.And with the development of China’s economy and the improvement of its international status,TCSOL is also developing in the depth direction.This also promotes the TCSOL to continuously improve the language skills and cultural cognition of learners,so that they can develop harmoniously.Metaphorical rhetoric is a phenomenon that exists in any language,even the communication and dissemination of human meaning is continuously extended by means of metaphor.Chinese culture is profound,and under the infiltration of national culture,flowers and trees also have special cultural meanings,especially the representative plants of China,which have given their unique metaphorical meanings and cultural symbols in the works of literati in the past.In addition,the typical Chinese plants have the meaning of “metaphor”,and this metaphorical meaning has become a part of the Chinese culture in the accumulation of time.For the second language learners,the cultural meaning behind the language is the difficult problem in the process of learning.Therefore,this thesis attempts to explore how to achieve good teaching efficiency in the class of TCSOL under the premise of combining "knowledge teaching" with "cultural teaching",from the perspective of combining the metaphorical rhetoric with the cultural meaning of plant words.The author combines the classroom practical experience of TCSOL with the current rhetoric use of middle and senior students,and carefully designed a questionnaire survey on the use of botanical metaphors for middle and senior foreign students.After most students’ effective feedback,I studied and reflected the study and use situations of foreign students in the classroom.This paper summarizes the teaching difficulties affecting the plant metaphors rhetoric,including structural understanding difficulties and cultural understanding difficulties;the influencing factors of plant metaphorical rhetoric learning include negative transfer of target language knowledge,negative transfer of mother tongue knowledge,and other factors;as for how to improve learning efficiency of plant metaphorical rhetoric puts forward some practical suggestions for teacher teaching,student learning and textbook writing.Finally,the research results of this paper are summarized,and the shortcomings of this paper and the contents to be improved are pointed out.I hope this paper can play an active role in promoting teaching efficiency in the class and development of TCSOL.
