Jia Pingwa is a contemporary Chinese writer who pays great attention to reality,rich in creating new literature that integrates nationality and epochality,and has achieved fruitful results in the creation of novels,has a high degree of circulation,and has exerted a relatively large influence in the literary circle.Examining the world of Jia Pingwa’s novels,we can find that Jia Pingwa consciously symbolizes people and objects in his novels,and consciously strives to symbolize them while writing about daily trivialities.It can be seen that the text is endowed with rich metaphorical connotations,and the analysis and interpretation of its novels with a metaphorical perspective is conducive to a fuller understanding of the profound meaning of the novel.This thesis is mainly divided into three parts,introduction,main text and conclusion.The introduction part summarizes the general situation of Jia Pingwa’s novel creation and related research status,puts forward the methods and innovation points of thesis research,and expounds the value and significance of thesis research.The main text contains four chapters,after defining the concept of metaphor,the metaphorical connotation,metaphorical characteristics,and the literary value and meaning behind the metaphorical connotation in the text are mainly explored from the perspective of metaphor.The first chapter first summarizes the development of metaphor and the analysis and research of relevant scholars on metaphor and the relationship between metaphor and literature,so as to define the relevant concepts of metaphor,in Jia Pingwa’s novel,metaphor occupies a crucial position,and the words and sentences of the text are very metaphorical.Secondly,this paper explores the metaphorical generation mechanism in Jia Pingwa’s works,and has an overall grasp of the metaphors in Jia Pingwa’s works.Based on this,it is convenient to study and interpret Jia Pingwa’s novel in more detail from a metaphorical perspective,so as to further explore the profound meaning of the text.The second chapter elaborates on the metaphorical connotations in Jia Pingwa’s novels,which are mainly divided into three subsections,the first of which explores the deep metaphorical connotations of the characters,mainly analyzing the male characters in his works and the female characters that are very typical of his works.Regarding the female characters,it is the characters that Jia Pingwa has created more brilliantly in his novels,and Jia Pingwa portrays the most familiar female characters in Shangzhou and the female characters in Xi’an city.To a certain extent,the female characters in the text have become a symbolic expression,and under the local female symbols and urban female symbols,the local culture and urban culture can be presented,which not only enrich the gallery of rural female characters,but also show the spirit of the times to a certain extent.The second section explores the metaphorical connotations of image symbols and spatial symbols in Jia Pingwa’s novels,and through the exploration of symbolic expressions such as imagery,space,and politics in the text,the author’s examination of human social reality and the emotional expression given to them can be insightful.The third subsection explores the metaphorical connotation of cultural thought symbols in Jia Pingwa’s novels,and through reading,we can gain insight into the great cultural significance of Jia Pingwa’s novels,and the title of the novel and the folk cultural symbols in the text have a huge space for exploration,which have profound cultural meanings and play an indispensable role in enriching the ideological connotation of the text.The third chapter mainly discusses the metaphorical characteristics of Jia Pingwa’s novels from the metaphorical thinking in the creative process.The fourth chapter is divided into two parts to discuss the metaphorical value and significance of Jia Pingwa’s novels.The concluding part reviews,summarizes and summarizes the characteristics of metaphors in Jia Pingwa’s novels and the literary value produced by the combination of metaphor and literature.Through the analysis and research of the metaphorical connotation in his novel,it is convenient to better interpret the work,so as to explore the profound value of the work.Based on specific texts,combined with the author’s life experience and the background of the era of creation,this thesis further explores and excavates the works from the perspective of metaphor research based on the existing research results of the works,and supplements the shortcomings of Jia Pingwa’s research to a certain extent in combination with works and theories,which can further enhance the value and significance of Jia Pingwa’s literary works.
