With the continuous enhancement of China's comprehensive national strength and the deepening of economic globalization,the spread and the influence of international communication of Chinese culture have made a qualitative leap.International friends are willing to learn Chinese culture.Promotion of the strategy“Chinese-culture-going-global”initiative is urgent.As an important carrier of Chinese cultural communication,the translation of Chinese classics of science and technology is of significance in the transmission of ancient Chinese science and technology and handicrafts.The book Principle of Machine Construction for Carpenters introduces the ancient Chinese woodworking technology,and explains the development history of the ancient carriage and loom and the construction of the loom.The book has been translated.This report is based on Vermeer's Skopos theory and its three rules to guide the translation of the book Principle of Machine Construction for Carpenters.The application of the three rules of Skopos theory at lexical,syntactic and discoursal level is discussed.In terms of lexical translation,equivalence,transliteration together with annotation and paraphrase are adopted frequently,which is consistent with the fidelity rule.At the syntactic level,the syntactic coherence can be achieved by using the reformulation,omission,division and voice conversion.In the aspect of discoursal translation,the skopos rule can be used to satisfy the acceptability of language and culture.The translation of Chinese classics of science and technology has great challenge and innovation.This report summarizes and analyzes its translation methods and techniques,and provides some references for future translation of scientific and technological classics. |
