The Value Of Hospice Care In Taoist Views To Life-death

Hospice care is the noblest of "Sunset project".It is the product that the human material and spiritual civilization develops certain level.It is a notable feature of an awakening of the human subjective consciousness.The human’s main body position is highlighted.In the ordinary course of events,the hospice is mostly found from clinical practice in medicine and has limited range of application.But this behavior has great practical significance,because it can improve people’s understanding of death,and let the dying people pass away at peace with dignity.This paper gives a comprehensive and systematic overview about the value of hospice care which encoded in Taoist view of life-death,standing on the fundamental standpoint of life philosophy.By studying Taoist view of life-death,this paper reaches the conclusion that only by understanding the meaning of life and death,accepting death fundamentally,broadening the breadth of life by enhancing self-worth continually,can we achieve the consciousness and peaceful of our inner life.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter introduces the background and significance,literature review,research contents and methods;the second chapter is an overview of hospice care,it discussed the necessity of China hospice care from the view of concepts and features about hospice care,and combined with the development status of China hospice care.The third chapter introduces the main contents of the Taoist View of Life-Death: cherish both body and life,imitation of nature,homogeneity of life and death,no fear of death,these thoughts do foreshadowing for following chapter four : the value of hospice care which encoded in Taoist view of life-death;the fourth chapter,it analyzed the value of hospice care which encoded in Taoist view of life-death,by researching the Taoist view of life-death and relating to the current problem that comes from people when they face death.These gives us some kind of enlightenment that people should pay attention to the quality of life,pursue the value of life,know the death rationally,accept death calmly;the fifth chapter,it talked about soothing treatment to terminal stage patients,improving their life’s quality and let terminal stage patients recognize the dignity of the death,this paper put forward specific measures that can realize the value of hospice care which encoded in Taoist view of life-death: implementing the soothing treatment,carrying on death education and maintaining dignity of terminal stage patients.
