Anyone will die because death is the inevitable result in the process of life. And being near death is the hopeless stage that leads to one's death. When a man is in face of death, he always shows some kind of fear and anxiety. Thus, it can also make their family members feel painful and sorrowful. Nowadays, most researches and practices on hospice care are attached to medicine, psychology and sociology. Researchers pay more attention to the various kinds of development of technology and the delicacy of technique. The dying man is now an object that can be placed at random and on the verge of control. Being ignorant of and indifferent to their spiritual world and existence conceals the original meaning of hospice care ---- to care about individuals, value life and death, as well as save souls.Although hospice care directs to clinical trial at last, changing people's view on life and death is the most valuable. This paper is guided by the outlook of life and death in Taoist just because Taoist is based on vital philosophy which had intensive realization of life. Taoist thought that Tao was the inherent quality of human being, life was just a state for us and death was our end-result. As human being, one should continually pursue and experience the value of life and the significance of death to realize the real freedom when still living. Therefore, Tao advocated"it's natural to live and die". This sentence includes very care for others, which is not pure objective and naturalistic, but is full of life meaning. That is, only when one understands the meaning of life and death, when one promotes himself, can he realize the peacefulness in life and return real freedom of human nature. Prominent care about life in Taoism has sufficiently proved that it made up some theory guidance and directive significance for hospice care.Being based on Taoism to educate the dying people to face the death is to arouse their own consciousness, release their emotion, to make them feel positive when facing the unavoidable face. Moreover, they can know the positive meaning of life. Furthermore, they'd better get rid of their anxiety and desperation. At last, they can face death quietly and without any complaints. Death is the absolute freedom that everyone will face.
