Study On The Social And Cultural Changes Of Qiongzhong Zahan Village Under The Background Of Tourism Development

The development of tourism in minority areas plays an important role in promoting economic development and improving people's living standards.Tourism development not only brings economic benefits to minority areas but also influences their social culture,which promotes the social and cultural changes in minority areas.Zahan village in Qiongzhong county of Hainan is a rare village in China,where Li nationality and Miao nationality live together.Under the background of beautiful rural construction and rural revitalization,Zahan was listed as the first rural tourism demonstration site by the government of Qiongzhong in 2012.Tourism development has made the appearance of Zahan village and the income of villagers changed greatly.With the development of tourism,the increase of villagers' income and the close contact with the outside world caused by tourism,the material culture and spiritual culture of Zahan village have changed to different degrees,and these has both positive and negative impacts on the village and residents.Now,it is an urgent issue to be studied that how to strengthen the positive effects and pay attention to the negative effects,and how to make the tourism development of Zahan village develop towards a more healthy and sustainable direction through the efforts of related parties of tourism development.This paper selects the Zahan village as a case study.Several research methods,including the short-term field research,semi-structured interview,and literature research law,were conducted to collect data.Both the material culture and spiritual culture changes in the Zahan village were analyzed on the basis of the collected data.It is found that tourism development has both positive and negative impacts on the social culture of Zahan village.However,the positive impact is the mainstream overall,because tourism development has brought economic,social,and environmental benefits to the Li nationality and Miao nationality in Zahan village.At the end of the study,this paper summarizes the experience of tourism development in the Zahan village and analyzes the existing problems of Zahan tourism development.Finally,the sustainable development strategies of tourism in Zahan was discussed in detail as well.
