English textbooks are an important tool and carrier of students’ English learning.A new round of English curriculum reform has put forward new requirements for primary school students’ English learning.We should reinterpret the components of English textbooks.As an important part of teaching books,elementary school English textbook exercises play an important role in developing and deepening knowledge.Good English textbook homework can improve and enhance students’ abilities,arouse the enthusiasm of students in learning English.The single type of homework in current English textbooks cannot motivate students to learn English,and the lack of hierarchy in homework cannot meet the learning needs of students of different ability levels.Starting from the research results at home and abroad,this study takes constructivism theory and humanism theory as the main theoretical basis,and analyzes the primary school English textbook homework from the dimensions of homework type,homework question type and homework difficulty through text analysis.From the questionnaire survey,we know that most students want to consolidate their knowledge and improve their scores through textbook homework.Middle students prefer listening and practical homework,while advanced students prefer reading and written homework.In addition,students want to do slightly more difficult English teaching book homework,and they are looking forward to independently choosing the equivalent homework according to their learning ability.The general view student has proposed the new demand to the textbook work each aspect.According to the interview,students’ overall satisfaction with the existing textbook is not high.The existing single type of textbook homework can not meet the needs of its comprehensive development;Homework content is not rich enough to meet their needs to explore new knowledge.After qualitative and quantitative analysis of the survey data,it is concluded that the textbook template arrangement limits the proper function of teaching book assignments,and the continuous improvement of modern students’ learning needs leads to the current English teaching book assignments cannot meet students’ learning needs.In response to these problems,following the student-oriented concept,the design of rich types and levels of homework can give full play to the primary school English textbook homework function,the use of high-quality teaching resources to supplement the existing textbook homework content,broaden the scope of knowledge of students.Through different methods to shorten the gap between the ideal textbook assignment and the existing teaching textbook assignment,the primary school English textbook assignment can give full play to its due teaching benefits.
