The "Zabern Affair" which took place in the small town of Zabern in Alsace from 1913 to 1914 was a political event.It reflected the conflict between the central government and the local government,and it was also the concentrated expression of the political crisis of the German Empire on the eve of the First World War.Due to the unique geographical location and historical and cultural background of Alsace for a long time,this event has triggered the common concern of many media in Germany,France and the United Kingdom.The cause of the "Zabern Affair" was negligible in the historical context of the 20th century,and with the attention of the media and the public,the incident began to gradually expand and upgrade.This affair not only caused the case of Prime Minister's was asked to removal in 1913,but also was reported by the media of Germany,France,Britain and other countries.It also caused the international discussion of the political system of the German Empire.The"Zabern Affair" has its characteristics of "small events-big influences" from occurrence,development,and end to subsequent influence.The outbreak of the First World War prevented the continued fermentation and further spread of the influence of the "Zabern Affair".This affair came to the end with the death of the founder,who named von Fosterner,in 1915.This paper mainly discusses the cause,process and influence of the "Zabern Affair"on the eve of World War I,and the formation of its historical memory in the historical development.The memory of the "Zabern Affair" is based on archival records,media reports and literatures.
