| With the advance of the course reform in secondary vocational schools(SVS),how to motivate students,encourage cooperation based on self-study,and cultivate independent learning & problem-solving skills,has become one of the issues we have to face.Examining current Japanese teaching in SVS,we realize that traditional teaching method is,more or less,problematic,and therefore can no longer meet students’ learning needs;we need find a new way.Seminar approach,as a teaching mode to cultivate innovative talents,is characterized as being interactive,equal,motivating and inspiring;it has been widely applied in a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses,especially in Japan where seminars courses are provided by all universities.Seminar approach helps to improve students’ independent learning,coordinating and communicative skills.Therefore,it is worthwhile to consider its application in the Japanese teaching in SVS.Beginning with current status of Japanese teaching in SVS,this thesis aims to analyze problems in current teaching and bring in innovative teaching methods,specifically,introducing seminar approach while referring to major training goals &new requirements for curriculum reform.Then,we will explore the theoretical basis of seminar approach’s application in vocational school from the perspectives of linguistics,pedagogy and psychology.Under the guidance of the theories above,the thesis tries to investigate the application of the seminar approach in such courses as Japanese Grammar and Japanese Country Profile,exploring its availability & validity and optimizing class organization.And it summarizes the promotional value of the approachin secondary vocational courses,and highlights possible problems and solutions in practice.As one of the teaching modes,seminar approach is a useful teaching method that can enrich foreign language teaching methods in vocational schools. |
