Concept Map-based English Synonym Memory Educational Game Design And Experimental Study

Synonyms have always been one of the main focuses of English learning.Although learning synonyms can help English learners to expand their vocabulary and enrich their expressions,subtle differences between synonyms can also be a problem for English learners.Related research shows that English synonym learning has plagued many Chinese English learners,and most of them do not realize that they can adopt better learning strategies.At present,although there are synonym learning tools that incorporate concept maps,conceptual maps have not been incorporated into educational games as learning means of English synonyms.In view of this,this article innovatively incorporates the concept map into the educational game,through the literature research method,experimental analysis method and interview method for game design and experimental research,design English synonyms test questionnaire,learning motivation and cognitive load scale,from learning Three dimensions of achievement,learning motivation and cognitive load explore the effect of conceptual English based synonymous memory education games on students’ learning of English synonyms.Based on Ausubel’s assimilation theory,constructivism theory,schema theory and immersion theory as the theoretical basis for instructional design and game design,a dual goal of education and playfulness was developed,and the appropriate game interaction method and UI were used.Main game rules.After completing the development and testing of the game,medical students from the third year to the fifth year were selected as experimental subjects,and group experiments and interviews were conducted to explore.After a month-long experiment,the author collated and analyzed the data collected,and finally reached the following conclusion: The use of conceptual map-based English synonym memory educational games as learning methods can effectively improve students’ English synonyms learning performance and learning motivation.Reduce its cognitive load.English learners’ attitudes toward the use of conceptual map-based English synonym memory educational games as learning tools are generally positive.In addition,this study provides new learning tools for the study of English synonyms,and also provides new ideas for English synonyms researchers.
