"A Survey of the Chinese Modern and Contemporary History" is a political theory course which is popularly given to 2006 undergraduate students from 2007 spring all over the country, and this course is the only one historical course in the series of university political theory courses, so it's responsible for "human education via history". But the practical teaching and learning of this course is not so good, that mainly because current students pay attention to political theory course but lack of historical experience, and now the teaching way in the class is boring and so on. While educational games may solve these problems by its educational, interesting and virtual experience environment characteristics.What will be discussed in the thesis is just the educational games' design and development base on the course "A Survey of the Chinese Modern and Contemporary History" . Before designing the educational games, the first problem we should solve is the balance of education and entertainment. I think, using the game design idea to achieve the education target is the principle of balance "education" and "entertainment". Base on this principle, this thesis analyses the education target of "A Survey of the Chinese Modern and Contemporary History" from three dimensions which are knowledge and technology, process and method, emotion attitude and values to discuss the strategies to achieve the education target by games, further make the overall design of china modern history education games: RPG education games which make "china modern history" as story background, typical china modern history activities combination as plot mainline, game player as game main role to participate in games' "history activity" to develop the game plot.The overall idea as foundation, pick up the case "The destruction of opium " to do concrete design from aspects of plot, role, props and so on, and use 3D technology and C# programming language to do some part development of game model and Game Engine. |
