In today's promotion of the new curriculum reform,the traditional teaching model with teaching materials first,classroom as the center,and teacher as the center has gradually been eliminated.Instead,it is a new classroom model that is centered on students and encourages students to study independently.According to this,the researcher attempts to improve students 'ability to study English subjects independently by changing the traditional teaching methods.The researcher attempts to use CALLA teaching model to improve students' English learning interests and performance,so that students 'learning autonomy,subjectivity and independence are promoted and developed.On the basis of teaching theory,this study combined the relevant research results of CALLA teaching model applied to the field of English teaching at home and abroad.The researcher took 110 students from one school in Haicheng District of Beihai City as the research object.We tried to apply CALLA teaching model to primary school English teaching.The experimental study lasted for a semester from February 2018 to June 2018.The research question is whether the CALLA teaching model has an impact on the interest and performance of primary school students in English learning.The researcher used the CALLA teaching mode to teach English in experimental class,white the traditional teaching mode in the control class.The research methods are: experimental method,survey method.The primary school student interest questionnaire(English)by Xue Lianhua(2013)was used as questionnaire.Before and after the experiment,the researcher collected the questionnaire of interest of English learning and the results of the English examination at the same stage toinvestigate whether the different teaching modes had any influence on the interest and performance of English learning.The data showed that the English scores of the experimental class were significantly higher than those of the control class.In addition,students 'interest in English learning had also improved significantly.Experiments show that CALLA teaching mode,as a new teaching mode for training students 'learning strategies,can help students to effectively clarify their learning ideas,build behavioral structures and language supports,and improve students' learning interests and performance.Moreover,by helping teachers to clarify the practicality of the CALLA teaching model,it can truly improve the efficiency of classroom teaching,make interaction between teacher and student more obvious and effective,finally solve the actual English teaching problem,and prepare students for the lifelong learning and development of English.In short,the CALLA teaching model is feasible for English classroom teaching in primary school students.
