Study And Application Of Torch Design For Large-scale Sports Events Based On Cultural Image Cognition

Globalization has increased the participation of countries in world major sports events.Nowadays,they are not only a series of sports competitions but also a place for cultural exchanges.The Olympic torches are excellent cultural products,which have the features of territoriality and temporality.Under the influence of the Olympics,the Asian games attach equal importance to the torch design.Hangzhou will host the 19th Asian games in 2022,and there will be an Asian games torch with Hangzhou culture.Olympic Games has a longer history and includes more diversified cultural elements,and the design of Olympic torches are more mature,which can serve as a reference for the design of the Hangzhou Asian games torchThe purpose of this study is to analyze the evolution trend of Olympic torch styles,study the relationship between cultural symbols and cultural images,and summarize the application rules of cultural symbols in Olympic torches.Cultural image cognitive experiment was conducted by using methods like literature survey,Likert scale and focus group.The pictures of successive Olympic torches were collected from the official website of the Olympic Games and the cultural symbols applied in torches were deconstructed to understand the usage condition of the cultural symbols.On this basis,various people were invited to score three cultural image items of Olympic torches including Olympics,host country and Greek to obtain the relationship between the cultural symbols and cultural image.Finally,the focus group method was adopted to analyze the evolution trend of torch styles,and conduct the selection rule of cultural symbols.Based on the experimental results,the Hangzhou symbol was selected for the Asian Games torch design,and the solid model of the torch was made by 3D printingThis study finds that the Greek cultural symbols in the Olympic torches are decreasing and the Olympic cultural symbols are increasing There is a law of image cognition of cultural symbols.Different types of cultural symbols convey different image types and image strengths.The style trend of the Olympic torch is from unified to diversified,from representational to abstract.The selection and expression of cultural symbols of each torch are similar.The selection of symbols for the torch shapes is restricted by their own shapes.In order to emphasize the local cultural image in products,designers should choose appropriate symbols and adopt a reasonable way of expression.
