On The Creation Of The Theme In Documentary Films Process

Documentary film production is an extremely complex process with several steps involved from material collecting,subject selecting,to outlining,field shooting and post processing(namely,dubbing,toning,and coloring)before the film formation.Regardless of the variable factors it contains,the original part is undoubtedly the most essential part of the whole movie.To be specific,there are two aspects consisted in the theme:the subject and the theme.The theme usually conveys the idea creator wants to express which is also known as the soul of the film to strike a chord among the audience and impress them by the gradual plot development naturally.Based on the self-made film"Beautiful",the paper aims to show subject selection in creation,theme determination during shooting,as well as the misunderstandings in topic determination,and summarize the deficiency during the process with my own experience.
