Urban left-behind children are some special children who appear along with the rapid development of urbanization in our country. These children can not get the care of their parents in life and study because of one or both parents working away from home for a long time.Because these children are in an important period of physiological and psychological development, they are prone to mental health problems in this environment. In recent years, urban left-behind children are not as vulnerable to social concern as rural left-behind children, and the problems are relatively hidden.Based on this, this paper takes urban left-behind children as the research object, through the study of the mental health of the left-behind children in this group,in order to promote the healthy development of young people in our country to do their part. This paper mainly studies the mental health status of left-behind children in K city.Taking five middle schools in K city as an example, the data are analyzed and processed by means of Eysenck personality questionnaire and mental health scale for primary and secondary school students. The data are analyzed and processed by SPSS statistical software.Combined with the relevant theories and existing literature, through the analysis of the overall status of personality characteristics and mental health level of left-behind children in K city, the differences between them are analyzed.Furthermore, some suggestions are put forward to improve the mental health level of the left-behind children in K city.According to the results of the study, the statistical data of the left-behind childrenundefineds scores in the four EPQ subscales were analyzed. The results showed that the left-behind children were on the(E)subscale of introversion and extroversion. The number of introverts and typical introverts accounted for 44.4% of the total, that is,nearly half of the left-behind children were very introverted and isolated in personality. On the neuroticism(N)subscale, nearly 1/3 of the left-behind children scored above 56.7.They showed anxiety, worry, high mood fluctuation and even irrational behavior in personality. On the scale of psychoticism(P),17.3% of left-behind children had higher scores. They were stubborn and stubborn in personality, did not like to communicate with others, lacked empathy, and were aggressive. On the masking(L)subscale,a small number of left-behind children have higher masking. Therefore, based on the above results, the conclusions of this paper are as follows:first, there are significant differences in mental health status between urban left-behind children and non-left-behind children: learning anxiety, loneliness tendency, allergy tendency, physical symptoms, and so on.Fear tendency and other five factors and total scores,non-left-behind children and left-behind childrenundefineds performance is more obvious.Secondly, there are significant differences in the mental health of the left-behind children in the city. The results show that the left-behind children in divorced cities are more likely to develop learning anxiety, anxiety to others,loneliness,self-blame and allergies than those who are not in the interests of their parents.Third, there are significant differences between different guardians on the mental health of the left-behind children in the city.Fourth, for urban left-behind children, different individuals also have greater differences in mental health,in the eight dimensions of mental health, there are more significant differences between men and women. At the same time, from the whole study, the family environment and other differences also make the difference more obvious.Based on the above results, this paper holds that in order to further solve the mental health problems of the left-behind children in cities,it is necessary to pay attention to family education, play a leading role in schools and pay attention to the individual differences of children and so on.
