A Report On Escort Interpreting Of German Enterprise Investment Project

With the acceleration of the globalization process,China’s business contacts with countries around the world are increasingly close.During this process,in order to achieve efficient communication and cooperation,interpretation work has become an indispensable part.Escort interpreting,as the most flexible form of interpreting work,plays an important role in all kinds of international business affairs.This report is a reflection and summary of the author after an escort interpretation practice.The report is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is a description of the interpreting task from three aspects: background of the task,requests from the client and features of the task.The second chapter is a description of the interpretation preparation process of the task.It first describes the pre-interpretation preparation,that is,the preparation of tools and glossary,then the implementation of the interpretation plan and the response of the emergency,and then the post-interpretation quality study,self evaluation and the feedback from client.The third chapter is the case study of this report.The author uses Verschueren’s Adaptation Theory to focus on the analysis and reflection of the practice from the contextual application,which mainly includes three aspects: linguistic context,cultural context and situational context.The fourth chapter is the summary section.It puts forward some unsolved problems in this interpretation practice and the direction of efforts to solve them,and looks forward to the future study work.Through this escort interpreting activity,the author has got a clearer understanding of her practical ability and found that,to become a good interpreter,one need to have some knowledge of many aspects and must have sufficient resilience.Finally,the author hopes this report can be used as a reference for her future work and study.
