At the end of the 19 th century and the beginning of the 20 th century,along with the deepening of the influence of the industrial revolution,the rise of capitalist forces and the prevalence of imperialism,the environment of the entire European society has undergone tremendous changes.The development of science and technology and economy has accelerated the transformation of political culture.This has caused earthshaking changes in the minds of people in society at the time.At that time in Europe,various conflicts intensified and undercurrents,and emerging powers seemed to emerge in the international landscape.Humanism and irrationalism have gradually become the mainstream accepted by people.Freud's psychological research has gradually begun to explore the path of their inner world.It is followed by people who have begun to deny the real society,but At the same time,I don't know where to go in the future.In this historical context,an art revolution that began with painting and then quickly spread to other art fields contrary to traditional artistic concepts came into being.This is expressionism.It not only conforms to people's inner vision,but also fits the background of the entire historical period,with distinct characteristics of the times and humanities.The birth of expressionism was in line with the aesthetic trend of the time,so it quickly swept the European countries of the early 20 th century.With its unique creative ideas and techniques,Expressionism has left countless artistic treasures in the long history and has had a profound impact on the birth of modern art.There is a clear difference between the expressionism and the aesthetics and creation of traditional Western art.The work aims to emphasize the inner world of the art creator and ignore the truthful expression of the objective world.Expressionism pays special attention to emphasizing self,expressing individuality,and criticizing,skepticism and reflection on the real world.This is something that the previous art world has never heard of before.It is a deeper understanding of self and reality in a specific historical environment.At the same time,it is another human liberation.Music and fine art belong to the two major categories of art disciplines.They are all means for artists to express themselves and the world through art works.Therefore,based on this logic,this article is based on expressionism,from music and painting.In this regard,we explored the works of these two art forms in the same period,and represented the two figures in the expressionist period,Egon Schiller and Alban Berg,through the creation of themes.Style and art theory,technology and other aspects of comparative analysis and research,from which to find the association and interaction of two art forms.This paper will summarize and analyze the expressionist history and art literature.Through the study of comparative method,taking music and painting as the research object,starting from two representative artists,systematically explore the internal relationship and performance of the two arts and summarize them.With a view to the interaction,penetration and comparative study of art in various historical periods and artistic aesthetics.This article is divided into three chapters,the first chapter,the expressionism generated in the turmoil,the author intends to use the historical background as the starting point to analyze the causes and artistic thoughts of expressionism;the second chapter,the comparison between Schiller and Berger Analysis,the author aims to analyze the two works and find the expression concepts and techniques of the two,and draw certain conclusions.The third chapter,music and painting under expressionism,based on the artistic synaesthesia,analyzes different The common performance of art,and analyze its influence on the art of later generations and think about the development direction of future art.
