Royal Guard plays an important part in the Ming Dynasty to strengthen imperial power and authoritarian rule.Its supreme officer is the commander of the Jin Yi Wei,who has the same knowledge of the command and the legitimate affairs;the governor of the North Township in the subordinate organization of the Jin Yi Wei is in charge of the imperial court.During the period of Yongle,the number of Thousand households in the Jin Yi Wei Institute was increased totwenty-four in the Ming Dynasty,but the twenty-four did not exist at the same time.There were twenty-two around the Hongwu period,but only fourteen in the period of Zhengde and Wanli.Jin Yi Wei officials are numerous,according to the level of officials,assessment methods are mainly divided into self-Chen,non-self-aging,exemption,its functions are extensive,potential.The power extended to every corner of the Ming Dynasty,and its extensive functions made it rely on each other and struggle against each other with Dongchang,Sanfa Division,and the five cities.Jinyi Wei became the ruler of the Ming Dynasty to establish authority and control his staff.At the same time,the powerful tools of governing the country,its own cruelty,unscrupulous means also constantly impact on all aspects of the Ming Dynasty rule.
