Research On Love Of War Films In The "17 Years"

During the 17 years from the founding of New China to the start of the “Cultural Revolution”,in films created following the national policy had a political intention greater than the artistic standards,and narrative of love in war films must serve the narrative of revolution,filling love relationships in those films with both the elements of revolution and love.The love between the revolutionaries in the films was euphemistic and subtle,but it was extremely moving at the same time.There seemed to be a tacit understanding between the film creator and the audience,which led to a great viewing effect.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the love in the war films made during the “17 years”.With the love in the war films made during the “17 years” period as the main research objects and war films as the background,the paper explored the uniqueness of love in war films in the “17 years” from three perspectives,i.e.type of love relationships,development of the love relationships and image expression.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the paper consists of three chapters:The introduction part analyzed the value and significance of studying the love relationships in war films in the “17 years”,summarized the creation of war films during the “17 years” period,and outlined relevant research findings in the academia.In the first chapter,based on the identities of the two parties involved in a love relationship,the love relationships in war films in the “17 years” were divided into two types,i.e.love in dilemma-the love relationship between the army and the masses and love in flames of war-the love relationship between comrades.Among them,the love relationship between comrades was further divided into the deep love between couples who share life and death and the special love between special agents according to the different war environments the revolutionaries were confronted with,summarizing and sketching out the battlefield love from the angle of categorization.In the second chapter,from the perspective of love development,the origin,development of love in war films in the “17 years” and characteristics of the ending in various stages were horizontally compared and analyzed,revealing the unique connotation expressed by love in these war films hidden behind the revolutionary narrative.The third chapter is a detailed analysis of the relationship between image expression and love performance in war films in the “17 years”.First of all,in terms of sounds and images,meaningful images and theme songs were used to symbolize and hint the development of love between the revolutionaries;secondly,the specific behaviors of the protagonists in expressing their love were analyzed,mainly from two perspectives,i.e.the expression of details and the meaning conveyed by the love tokens.In the conclusion part,the unique charm and contribution of love in war films in the “17 years” were comprehensively summarized.Meanwhile,the defects and shortcomings of expressing love in these films were also pointed out.
