As one of the northern nomadic peoples in China, the Uighur grew up in the mid-8~thh century, establishing a vast ethnic regime of Uighur with Mount Utugen in the north of the desert as its center. In 840 AD under the reign of Emperor Wenzong in the Tang Dynasty, the Uighur Empire was overrun by the Kyrgyz, the tribes of which fled south or west after collapse.A group of the Uighur moving westward settled in the Hexi Corridor, founding their capital in Ganzhou, which are generally called Ganzhou Uighur. As the Ganzhou Uighur Kingdom was located in Hexi Corridor and surrounded by other ethnic regimes,it was crucial to find ways to live better and get along well with neighboring ethnic groups. The history of the Uighur is also the history of China's Western regions. From 9th to 11th century,Hexi Corridor had witnessed ongoing multi-ethnic division and integration. When the northwest was torn apart and turbulent, there was still a rather prosperous scene on the Silk Road, where merchants came in endless stream.Ganzhou Uighur made significant contributions to trade between China and the West and the formation of a unified multi-national country. Therefore, discussion about relationships between Ganzhou Uighur and neighboring ethnic groups is a key to understanding the history and culture of the northwest from the 9~thh to 11~thh century. This paper reveals the significant contribution of Northwest culture to the Chinese nation, which has great practical significance in helping us better understand the formation of China as a united multi-ethnic state and fostering social cohesion among each ethnic groups of China.
