The rapid development of science and technology in the 21 st century promotes the emergence of more and more scientific texts.As scientific texts keep increasing,their translation becomes increasingly significant.This report is based on a scientific paper of more than 10,000 words,which comes from the project “A Research on the Formation Mechanism of Innovative Clusters Based on the Evolution Stage of the Innovation Center”,which covers the realistic conditions,the current obstacles,policy recommendations and future development potential for achieving cooperation and innovation in Helsinki-Tallinn and other places.The texts are obviously of great value to be translated.This report is mainly intended to explore translation techniques in the process for translating scientific texts.It also aims to explore the translation techniques and methods of scientific texts in combination with the translation process of texts and help to improve the quality of scientific translationThe report mainly adopts the method of qualitative analysis in the process of research and analysis.As scientific texts show the stylistic features of rigorousness,objectiveness and formalness,the author follows the translation principles of faithfulness,smoothness and standardization.This report introduces the characteristics and background of science text,and gives a detailed description of the translation process,especially the problems found during the translation,which are analyzed and solved with specific examples from the perspectives of translation strategies and methods.Under the guidance of translation theories,this paper is expected to make a conclusion of useful translating strategies.Through analysis of typical examples,the author discusses the translation methods of proper nouns in scientific texts.Then,the author demonstrates in detail the translation techniques of long sentences and passive sentences,such as the method of the same order,the method of reserving and the method of splitting.Finally,the author demonstrates the importance of textual cohesion through examples.The author emphasizes that in scientific text translation,the translator should be proficient in two languages,familiar with professional knowledge and terminology,grasp corresponding professional knowledge,have a good command of both English and Chinese,and apply appropriate translation techniques.Only in this way,one can make the quality of scientific translations superior.
