This thesis is based on Chapter 8 of Media Geography written by Professor Shao Peiren and Doctor Yang Liping. It adopts the theories of Intercultural Pragmatics, mainly Professor He Zhaoxiong's points of view of intercultural pragmatics, intercultural social pragmatics and intercultural interlanguage pragmatics in Selected Readings for Pragmatics as the theoretical base in the course of translation. The meaning of this task is to convey new ideas and unique perspectives of Chinese scholars in the field of media geography to foreign scholars. After analyzing the cases, the following conclusions are drawn: The study of cross-cultural pragmalinguistics means to make everyone aware that everyone should be alert to the incomprehensible or misunderstandings in the future communication and measures should be taken to avoid the misunderstanding of different cultures,so it's crucial to understand the accuracy of original language;Cross-cultural sociopragmatics tells us that although people of various races have different cultural backgrounds, the similarity and parallels still exist. In order to make Chinese culture more acceptable, translators must learn the ideas and conceptual principles of different cultures,so it's also important to read parallel texts of foreign experts and understand their thoughts;Interlanguage pragmatics tells us that when Chinese language texts are exported,we must pay attention to habits of discussion and language etiquette and it is essential to study translation theories and skills.
