The opera Farewell to Cambridge is a representative work of Chinese modern national opera,and a work with prominent baritone role in the history of Chinese opera development.It tells about the love-hate entanglement of contemporary young scholars.This paper makes a concrete analysis of the artistic image of the baritone role Lu Xiaoman in opera and the classical Arias sung by the role.In the first chapter,starting with the background and genre of the opera "Farewell to Cambridge",the opera "Farewell to Cambridge" is briefly introduced,which lays the foundation for the detailed elaboration of the following paper.The second chapter mainly analyses and studies the artistic image of the baritone opera character Lu Xiaoman.This paper makes an analysis of Lu Xiaoman’s characters,characters,personality characteristics and the voice features of baritone.The third chapter is the core part of this paper.Taking the aria of the baritone role Lu Xiaoman as an example,the author makes an analysis and Research on the music characteristics and singing requirements of the solo section "Forget everything in rotation","I don’t know where the wind blows" and a quartet "Farewell to Cambridge".The fourth chapter elaborates the role of the baritone Lu Xiaoman for Chinese songs.The significance of the role creation of baritone makes the opera "Farewell to Cambridge" well known and loved by more people.We hope that the unique part of baritone will develop more brilliantly in the cause of Chinese singing.
