Comparative Research On Su Shi’s And Lessing’s Views Of Poetry And Painting

Su Shi’s view of poetry and painting advocates the “uniformity of poetry and painting”,which is a kind of perceptual view that emphasizes the intrinsic spirit of poetry and painting;while Lessing’s view of poetry and painting emphasizes the “heterogeneity of poetry and painting”,which is a kind of rational view that emphasizes the difference between poetry and painting on an objective level.There are many factors that cause the differences between Chinese and Western views of poetry and painting.The main reason is the Chinese and Western differences in philosophical thoughts,artistic spirit,and cultural traditions.Although Su Shi and Lessing put forward different opinions on the relationship between poetry and painting,they are similar in views on art imagination.They concede that poetry and painting creations are pursuing the artistic effect of stimulating imagination.Su Shi advocates that poetry and painting ultimately pursues the "artistic conception" beauty of full imagination.Lessing believes that artistic works must finally achieve the "verisimilar illusion" that stimulates imagination.Moreover,Su Shi and Lessing all follow the artistic law of “distorting the shape to achieve the ideal”,believing that “distorting the shape” is the way,and achieving “ideal” is the ultimate goal.In the end,if the extraordinary artistic beauty is to be achieved,artists need to exhibit the lingering charm of works by “showing the intrinsic spirit” in order to provide people with a unique aesthetic enjoyment.By analyzing the causes of the differences between Chinese and Western views of poetry and painting,this paper focuses on the similarities between Su Shi and Lessing’s views of poetry and painting in terms of imagination.In the end,from the perspective of mesologie and through interdisciplinary research,this paper explores the decisive role the media play in the way art is presented.Chinese and Western poetry and painting are different in their own media,so their creative paths are different.Moreover,with the development of the times,new media came into being,and the interest and taste of viewers are also changing.Under various pressures,changes must be made in poetry and painting.Through the study of Chinese and Western views of poetry and painting,the elements of poetry and painting can be integrated into the creation of each other.Besides,some artistic methods can be employed to break through the limitations of their own media to a certain extent,and then new artistic development will be achieved.Finally,through the above discussion,the author discusses the influences of the mutual interpretation between the two different art disciplines of poetry and painting on the creation of contemporary poetry and painting on the basis of interdisciplinary research.
