A Translation Practice Report On Choosing A Medigap Policy

The translation report is based on the "2015 Choosing a Medigap Policy:A Guide to Health Insurance for People with Medicare".The original text is printed by AETNA Senior Supplemental Insurance in 2015.It's a guide to choosing a Medigap policy in the US.The text includes:Medicare basics,Medigap basics,the right to buy a Medigap policy,steps to buying a Medigap policy,Medigap Policies for People with a Disability or ESRD,Medigap Coverage in Massachusetts,Minnesota,and Wisconsin etc.This translation report includes four parts:introduction,the process of translation,the analysis of text content and the summary of this translation project.The process of translation(the second chapter)and the analysis of text content(the third chapter)are the core part of this report.In the core part,the author introduces the preparations before the translation practice,such as the reading of the original text,the supplement of the related knowledge of the medical insurance system.the reading of the medical insurance literature and information,the choice of the translation theory and the choice of the auxiliary translation tools during the translation process.In the third chapter,the author first analyzes and determines the types of the original text,and then finds out the translation methods of text types corresponding to the original text,and summarizes and sums up the translation techniques and strategies used in the process of the translation practice.This translation report summarizes some translation methods of technical term related to Medicare system.At the same time,through the analysis of some cases in the sentence and the textual level,the author summarizes some translation experiences of Medicare texts,and provides some references for future translation of related types of texts.
