A Study Of Chizhou Nuo Opera Script

Chizhou opera is a bright pearl in the history of Chinese folk culture.It is known as “the living fossil of the opera”,for it is a good example of the performance of ancient operas and singing skills.This paper intends to analyze it from the perspective of the drama text.The opera,which is popular in the folk,is always at the edge of the culture.But it is influenced by the traditional mainstream culture.So we have seen some content of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism in the script of Chizhou Opera.This is what we want to investigate.The second chapter analyzes the playlist of Chizhou opera from the perspective of folklore.Because this kind of drama has the dual purpose of "rewarding the gods and entertaining people".The first thing it needs to do is to satisfy the gods.It is a form of dependency with the culture of pray,which means it never equivalent to other ordinary operas.Therefore,the second chapter should focus on the spiritual beliefs of Chizhou people in the specific era of Chizhou opera.Then,in the third chapter of this article,we compare the plays of Chizhou Opera with Chenzhou,Enshi Hefeng,Guangchang,and Shaoxing,and explore their similarities and differences to better help people understand the uniqueness of Chizhou opera.
