Exploration To Musical Achievements Of Geishas In Song Dynasty

In Song Dynasty,by “remove from military position by means cups of wine” of Emperor Taizong,city lights,and celerate peace by singing and dancing to show prosperity of times,geishas play a necessary and important role in life of royal family,nobility and downtown areas.From the point of sociology and anthropology,research on geishas is a comprehensive way to study civil culture and social ideology of Song Dynasty.Based on the research about activities and affairs of geishas,the paper makes geishas as the ovject of study,trying to show the common features and influence on social economy and culture.The paper consists of 3 parts: introduction,main part and conculsion.The introduction shows the aims,meanings and methods of study and make a generalization of academic research in recent years.There are three chapters in main part: The first chapter is the overview,mainly talking about the changes of name,classifications and surroundings and social status of geishas.The second chapter “biography of geishas”,according to the classification of household courtesans,office courtesans and street courtesans,makes relevant inspections and analysis on 21 famous geishas' biography,talent and affairs,such as Wang Zhaoyun and Li Shishi in history and try to make a more deep reserach on human nature of geishas who have low status but great effect on social culture in Song Dynasty.The third chapter “Geishas' influence on culture and economy in Song Dynasty”,analyses connections among geishas' influence on ecomonic development,Liu Yong's work,Song poems as well as spread and development.The author thinks that on the one hand not only do geishas have a great effect on social economy,but also they affect schloars' creation.On the other hand,influenced by other scholars,geishas' ability of composing improved,which makes a contribution to develpoment of Song poems.Geishas' effect on Song poems should not be overlooked,but their social status isvery low.When they create and sing works,they shows their own inward world as well as their status in Song poems.Although their low position,they have intimate contact with schloars.Their works is a supplyment to Song poems,and there is much reference value to Song culture.
