School bullying is a concern of the whole society. All sectors of society are actively looking for effective intervention measures to reduce the occurrence of school bullying and reduce the negative impact of bullying on students. In recent years, scholars believe that it is more meaningful to pay attention to the development of bullying participant behavior. In addition to bullying behavior and victimization, especially the research on bystander behavior(assisting behavior, defending behavior, outsider behavior)should be paid more attention. The study also found that bystanders' past bullying experience also affected their interventional behavior and strategies in bystander bullying, but there were few empirical studies. To enrich the theoretical research on the development of school bullying participant behavior of primary and secondary school students, and provide empirical support for improving the active involvement of bystanders in the study of school bullying, this study selected 769 students from Grade 3 to Grade 8 in Hangzhou and used the Bullying Participant Behaviors Questionnaire to explore the development characteristics of school bullying participant behavior of primary and secondary school students;Study 2 and Study 3 conveniently selected 390 students from Grade 3 to Grade 7 in Hangzhou, and adopted the "Bystander Intervention In Bullying" and the "Imaginary Victimization Events" to explores the relationship among school bullying participant behavior, bystander intervention behavior and intervention strategies of primary and secondary school students. The results are as follows:(1)With the increase of age, bullying, assist bullying, victimization and outsider behavior of junior high school students increased significantly, and defending behavior of senior primary school and junior middle school students increased significantly. The bullying, assist bullying and victimization of boys were higher than that of girls.(2)In the face of school bullying, third and seventh grade students are more likely to notice bullying, lower grade students are more aware of how to help victims;pupils are more likely to help others than junior middle school students.Boys are more conscious of responsibility and know how to help victims than girls when they watch bullying.(3)In the face of school bullying, primary and junior middle school students prefer to "consoling the victim" to help victims.Among them, the third/seventh grade students under the bystander status choose to "consoling the victim" more, the fifth grade students choose to "warning the teachers" more, the third grade students under the victim status choose to "confront the bullying alone" and "confront the bullying with a friend" more, followed by the fifth grade students;compared bystander status, the primary and junior middle school students under the victim status choose to "confront the bullying alone" and "confront the bullying with a friend".(4)The bullying participant behaviors of primary and junior middle school students has a significant predictive effect on bystander intervention and intervention strategies, and the more senior students bully participant behavior, the stronger the predictive effect. To sum up,there are significant grade and gender differences in bullying among primary and junior middle school students, and bullying participant behaviors has a predictive effect on the stage of bystander intervention and intervention strategies, and there are grade differences in predictive effect.
