The quality manual is a general statement of the enterprise's internal quality system,the main documents for guiding the enterprise's practice system,a programmatic document that should be followed for a long time in the quality management and quality assurance activities of the enterprise.The translation of quality manual can play a role in the publicity of enterprises to a certain extent.Under the background of the country's strong promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative,it is of great value to do a research on the translation of the quality manual.The practice report is completed under the guidance of Newmark's communicative translation theory.The author believes that not only the specification and accuracy of the relevant expression should be considered,but also the readers' response of the translation should be focused on,so as to achieve the purpose of establishing an enterprise' image.The communicative translation theory emphasizes the expression effect,rather than merely translating the source text so that ignoring the reader's reading reaction.The characteristics of the quality manual are consistent with that of scientific and technical texts,which is specified,concise and accurate.So,the domestication translation strategy should be adopted as much as possible according to the relevant expressions of target readers in the entire translation process,which coincides with Newmark's communicative translation theory.By the guidance of the communicative translation theory and mainly with the domestication strategy,the author completed this practice.Through this practice,the author has the following two inspirations: Firstly,Newmark's communicative translation theory is more suitable for the English translation of the quality manual.More and more enterprises hope to establish a good image of the enterprises through standard English translation of quality manuals.Secondly,the parallel text in the translation process is very important.The search of parallel text can improve the translation efficiency and quality control of translation to some extent.The author hopes that this report will benefit the translation of quality manuals in the future.
