The Influence Of Insufficient Note-taking On Chinese–English Consecutive Interpretation And Coping Strategies

With the continuous improvement of AI technology and machine translation technology,more and more basic translation work is now done by translation machines,given this situation,the professional interpreters might have to focus more on consecutive interpretation.In order to make a good consecutive interpreter,he/she must have mature note-taking skills.This thesis is a case study on the mock conference of the 4th World Internet Conference Press Conference to analyze the impact of ineffective note-taking on Chinese-English consecutive interpretation,and discuss the corresponding coping strategies.This paper first introduces the definition of the effectiveness of note-taking and the origin of the problem,then study the case to analyze the problems caused by insufficient note-taking,and its impact on interpretation,and propose corresponding strategies to improve the effectiveness of note-taking.Through this article,the author expects to provide some insight into solving note-taking-related problems,and provide some reference for the work and practice of other interpreters.
