| Through the history of Chinese ancient novels,Liao Zhai Zhi Yi is called truthfully “the most famous collection” in short classical Chinese stories in Qing Dynasty,which is just like a radiant pearl on the crown of ancient literature ornament,making me delicate.Lu Xun called the unique way of the writing “by the legendary method,and to the mystery”.Dream works in Liao Zhai Zhi Yi is accounting for about 1/7 of the entire collection.The importance of the dream works can be imagined.At the same time,the dream,as the important part of Chinese traditional culture,has a long history of development.Pu Songling is playing a vital role in the dream of culture which has a connecting link between the preceding and the following.The role of dreams in Liao Zhai Zhi Yi is very important,especially in the function of art characters,plot structure,and psychological aspect has the unique value.The study object of this paper is the dream works in Liao Zhai Zhi Yi.By the comprehensive summary of the Studio,we can learn the basic situation of dreams phenomenon;we also can analyze and count the dream works from the data,and finally classify the work description.We also analyze the relationship between the point of literary and aesthetic from the character,the plot,aesthetic feelings,and so on.According to the ancient Chinese literary theories,we discuss the reasons of so many dream works in Liao Zhai Zhi Yi.And we also explore the function and cultural value of the dream.We can not only understand the social psychological culture and secular human feelings in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty,but also learn the author’s writing style in the dream,so we can understand the meaning of in the times and the exploration of the phenomenon of life.The reason of so many dreams in Liao Zhai Zhi Yi is that Pu Songling not only likes to collect strange things since his childhood,but also wants to explore the social situation and the essence of life through the fantasy world. |
