Hair,a Symbol Of Expressing Emotions

Bai Juyi,a renowned poet in Tang Dynasty was Long lived and prolific.He wrote about 3000 poems.Since a long time ago,he has become a heated academic research subject.There are massive achievements in the researches on Bai's poems particularly.However,the resserch on a special category of poems,which depict hair and may be called hair poems by us in his poems,is relatively weak.He wrote about 400 hair poems in his lifetime,taking up a large portion of the total poems and conveying rich meanings.Such poems depict Bai's diverse life and emotional experiences and are connected with Chinese traditional culture,the social political atmosphere,and the poetic fashion in Mid-Tang Dynasty.This article consists of one introduction part,three chapters and an epilogue.The introduction includes the reason why this research was initiated,the purpose and the meaning of the research,the status quo of the researches at home and abroad,the research methodology,the key & pain points of the research,and the innovations as well.Chapter one is the performance situation of Bai's hair poems.One is a summary of Bai's hair poems,including the selection range,the total number,the other analyzes the characteristic of Bai's hair poems,including the features of his different life stages and the artistic traits indicated by the hair poems.Chapter two details the four intrinsic meanings of the hair poems: the meaning of the white hair,the meaning of the black hair,the meaning of losing hair,and the meaning of the messy hair.There is a rich meaning in the white hair.When describing his own white hair,Bai expressed two entirely different emotions: one is self-sadness and the other is a direct expression of exhilaration.The former contains the sadness of the deteriorating life,the bitterness of parting,the hatred caused by the unfulfilled ambitions,the sufferings from sickness,the pain of no children,and the boredom of solitude.The latter includes the positive attitude towards the deteriorating life,the expectation and joy for a cozy life,and the proud of the distinguished social status.In the description of others' hair,it mainly demonstrates Bai's bemoaning the universe and compassion for the people.The black hair indicates Bai's attention to the fashionable hair ornaments at that time,his appreciation and compliment of the beauty of the young and vigorous,and the admiration for the youthful and gorgeous look.The meaning of losing hair refers to the poet's anxiety about his own living conditions.The messy hair means the yearning and love for a relaxing and free life.Chapter three discusses the reasons why Bai paid attention to the hair and he changed his attitude to his hair loss.The epilogue mainly deals with the achievements and deficiencies of Bai's hair poems,the reason why bai's hair poems has no impact on later poetry,.what's more,Isum up my dissertation.The study on Bai Ju Yi's hair poems is of great value in respect of the quantity and the content.This article emphasizes the combination of the historical background,the poet's life experiences,his thoughts,and his hair poems.It conducts a relatively comprehensive and systematic analysis of Bai's hair poems,hoping that can enrich the current research on Bai Ju Yi and provide other researchers with a little bit of help and inspiration.
