Marlene Dumas is one of the most influential artists in contemporary Holland.The complex environment of growing up led to her self-expressive character in her paintings,which revealed the complex social ideology and the true state of human existence.This article focuses on the contradiction and metaphorical nature in Dumas' paintings.First of all,this paper explores the formation of Marlene Dumas' s ambivalence based on his growing environment and background.As a feminist,with the influence of the cultural background of postmodernism and the system of apartheid,the conflicting thoughts and ideas of the existence and practical problems of race,love life,women and babies,and the disadvantaged groups are produced,and these contradictory ideas are hidden in her paintings.In the middle.Therefore,through the study of the paintings of Dumas,the author interprets and analyses the three themes of the black-and-white position of race,the morbid and hyperbole of the baby,the grief and firmness of the disadvantaged group,so that people are concerned with the conflict between hope and disappointment,new and decadent,fragile and firm.A more profound understanding of the sensitive topics of the human society,such as the reality of the human society,political problems,multiplication and growth,suffering and death,and the metaphorical form of the original and strong contradiction,recording and reacting,and using a unique artistic image processing way to make people dig and feel the human nature from the works of metaphorical reality.And the essential power of life.Finally,through the research and study of Dumas,combined with the current social reality and his own understanding,this paper explores the influence and Enlightenment of Dumas on the writer's creative thinking and expression language.
