The Practical Application Of Contradiction Space In Chinese Painting

Since the 21 st century,influenced by Western art concepts,forms and techniques of expression,Chinese painting has gradually developed a variety of spatial forms of expression,among which works that express contradictory spaces have gradually entered people’s vision.The contradiction space discussed in this paper is slightly different from Escher’s contradiction space in the traditional sense.The contradiction space studied in this paper is the coexistence of two-dimensional space and three-dimensional space,three-dimensional space and four-dimensional space,or imaginary space and real space,which has dialectical opposition.It is characterized by dislocation,multi-perspective and multi-dimensional space combination The hypothetical space of contradiction.Starting from the analysis of the concept of contradiction space,combining with the practical experience of Chinese painting works created by the author in the form of "contradiction space",this paper discusses the application and reference mode of "contradiction space" in Chinese painting.The first part defines the concept of the classification of contradiction space and induction,the western painting of contradiction space is divided into the surreal space,exclusive space,movement space and multiple viewpoints space four class space,lists the four class contradiction space separate representative artists,his works were analyzed and classified.A number of paintings depict the contradictory space categories represented by four artists.The second part elaborates the theme of the paper from the perspective of the specific manifestation and characteristics of contradiction space in Chinese painting.The modes of expression of the contradiction space are "active expression","leaving white space in the picture" and "removing light and shadow",while the performance features are "timeliness","anti-focus perspective" and "nonlinear perspective".Then taking the works of Xu Lei,Jiang Ji’an,Hao Liang and other young artists as the main object of analysis,this paper analyzes the practice of contradiction space in contemporary Chinese painting from the perspective ofimagology.The third part is a detailed explanation of the author’s analysis,experience and application of the contradictory space in the process of graduation creation of the lost roots series.The detailed process of creation,from conception to picture composition and then to expression technique,is described with "contradiction" as the center.In the creation,I have experienced the hardship and joy of creation,understood the importance of copying and drawing on the excellent works of predecessors,and thus understood the importance of combining theory with practice.Graduation thesis and graduation creation also play the role of combining theory with practice,supporting creative ideas with theoretical knowledge and summarizing theoretical experience in creation.Theory and practice complement and complement each other.In the end,it concludes that the author’s graduation creation has played a promoting and upward role in the development of Chinese painting,expanded the expression techniques of contradiction space in Chinese painting,and expressed the concept of contradiction space more clearly.The western modern and contemporary spatial expression methods are used for reference in Chinese painting,which enriches the spatial expression forms of Chinese painting,integrates the eastern and western aesthetic tastes,and enables Chinese painting to go to the world better on the premise of retaining traditional characteristics.It is concluded from the research that Chinese painting had many forms of expression of contradictory space long before the emergence of such schemata as contradictory space in the West.However,due to the lack of theoretical records,this kind of space was passed on to the later generations as a common painting experience by painters.Before the influence of Western painting,Chinese painting had a relatively complete way of expression of contradictory space and unique characteristics of expression.Nowadays,the expression of contradictory space in Chinese painting has become more and more rich with the deepening of artistic concept.
