As modern information technology matures and multimedia applications such as computers become more and more popular today,the English teaching of China's application-oriented universities is also in line with the development of the times,and information technology teaching represented by information technologies such as computers and multimedia has gradually emerged.However,from the perspective of the overall situation of English informatization teaching in China's application-oriented universities,the status of English informatization teaching is not optimistic.Therefore,to explore the problems in the process of English informatization teaching in application-oriented universities,how to better cultivate more high-level innovative talents for the country and society is an important issue of higher education teaching and research in China.This article takes the theory of cognitivism and constructivism as the theoretical support and adopts the literature research method,the questionnaire method and the interview method to explore the path to optimize the English informatization teaching reform in application-oriented universities.Through the investigation and interview of500 students and some teachers and staffs of Shaanxi application-oriented universities from five aspects of students' learning,teachers' teaching,teaching methods,teaching contents and teaching guarantees,and mainly analyzes the problems and causes of the English informatization teaching and grasps the characteristics of application-oriented universities to improve the quality of talents for the colleges as the starting point,and puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions for optimizing Englishinformatization teaching under the background of educational informatization.The main conclusions of this paper are: Firstly,through the comprehensive analysis of survey data and interview results,it is found that the main problems of English informatization teaching in application-oriented universities are as follows:students' information literacy is low,and the ability for independent learning needs to be improved;teachers' information literacy is insufficient,and information technology application ability needs to be strengthened.The lack of innovation in the teaching model and the poor teaching methods;the content structure of English informatization teaching needs to be improved;the teaching resources and infrastructure of the colleges and universities are not perfect.Secondly,the reasons for these problems lie in the uneven quality of students,the lack of awareness of teachers in informatization teaching,the single structure of English informatization teaching,and the construction of English informatization teaching infrastructure and basic conditions are relatively weak.Thirdly,it puts forward the countermeasures to promote the development of the English informatization teaching from the following five aspects:The first is to strengthen publicity and education and improve students' information literacy level: to strengthen students' information awareness education;to cultivate students' independent learning ability;to improve students' information technology application ability.The second is to intensify training and improve teacher's informatization teaching technology level: to strengthen the training of teachers' informatization teaching awareness;to attach importance to the training and practice of teachers' informatization teaching techniques;and to enhance the application of teachers' information technology.The third is eclectic integration,comprehensively advocating the reform of English teaching methods and methods: to change the traditional English teaching model;continuously to improve the English teaching methods.The fourth is to integrate resources to effectively improve the content of English informatization teaching: to increase the integration of quality information resources and disciplines;to optimize the content structure of English informatization teaching.Fifth,to innovate the concept and optimize the English informatization teaching environment:to strengthen the awareness of the construction of English informatization teaching in colleges and universities;to intensify the construction andupgrading of software and hardware resources in English informatization teaching;to improve the evaluation mechanism of English informatization teaching.
