Education is the cornerstone of national development and higher education is undoubtedly an important guarantee of national strength development. In an effort to make China an international higher education power,Chinese authorities released a selected list of universities and colleges, which will participate in the country's construction plan of world-class universities and world-class disciplines. The “Double First-Class” initiative requires a higher educational institution to jump out of the box and seek innovative development. The book named Innovative University is the masterpiece of Clayton M.Christensen, the Father of Disruptive Innovation. In this book,he applies his disruptive innovation theory to higher education and expounds in this book how higher education should cope with disruptive innovation and what innovative path we should take to survive the crisis of higher education. This paper is a report on the translation of the third chapter of this book introducing Eliot's innovative contributions to Harvard and even American higher education in various aspects.During the translation process, the translator took Dynamic Equivalence theory proposed by Eugene Nida as the main theoretical support and employed a variety of translation techniques including reversing, dividing, recasting and conversion in overcoming difficulties on the lexical and syntactic levels. We hope this report can have some practical implications on future translation of similar texts and the translation can even contribute to studies in education management and innovative development of higher education in China.
