With economic globalization and commercial activities getting increasingly frequent,business English has become more and more important and the study of business Englishtranslation has caught more and more attention. As business English comes from generalEnglish, it shares all linguistic characteristics with general English. However, businessEnglish has its own unique features. As American translation theorist Eugene·A· Nida ’sdynamic equivalence is widely applied in the studies of business English translation, thisreport is based on Nida ’s dynamic equivalence and uses the Chinese-English publicitymaterials of the first session of CIFTIS as example, focusing on analysis and discussion ofthe strategies and techniques of business English translation. The publicity material understudy is provided by a prestigious translation agency in China and has already beenpublished in the magazine Business Beijing, totaling14,495words. Both literature researchand case analysis are adopted in the report. On the premise of a large number of literaturesand documents for relevant theoretical arguments, the report discusses on the classificationof stylistic characteristics of business English and the introduction of strategies andtechniques used in the process of business English translation illustrated by examples fromthe CIFTIS publicity material. The report arrives at the conclusion that business Englishtranslation should use proper strategies and techniques to realize the maximum dynamicequivalence between the source language and the target language.
