This practice report takes the translation of A Wrestling Life as the analysis object and this translation is finished by the translator and others.The translator is primarily responsible for the translation of five chapters(from chapter 17 to 21).Therefore,the translator chose this part for researching and analyzing.Through the analysis and research on the translation skills and problems in the process of translation practice,this report aims to achieve the purpose of improving the level of translation.This report consists of five parts: task description,process description,preparations,case analysis and practice summary.Chapter one includes task background,task significance and task purpose;process description,as an overview of the whole project,includes pre-translation,the process of translation,the proofreading and the finalized;the third chapter comprises reading the source text,searching related materials or parallel texts,the proper noun’s translation.Case Analysis is the core part in which the author expounds how to embody the three principles of translation(Meaning Transference,Acceptable,Similarity)with numbers of typical cases,and how to flexibly apply the translation techniques and skills to solve the problems encountered during translation practice;In the fifth chapter,the translator summarizes the problems and lessons learned in this translation practice.The translator has gained profound understanding of translation work and valuable experience during translation practice.But the translator has recognized the shortcoming which stimulates the translator to make great efforts toward a clear goal and direction.
