A Practice Report On The Translation Of A Wrestling Life (Chapters1-6)

This translation practice report covers the first six chapters from A Wrestling Life which I chose and translated.The book is a bibliographical text,or a narrative essay novel,that encourages people spiritually.It is a good choice for a beginner in translation to practice for its inherent practicality and research value.According to supervisor's suggestion,this translation practice was chosen as analysis object for the report.This report consists of 5 parts illustrating the introduction,analysis and summary of the translation process and completion of it,namely,task description,process description,translation preparation,case analysis and conclusion.The first chapter tells about the origin,content,requirements and agenda of translation;the second chapter describes in detail about the whole process from the beginning to the completion of the translation;the third chapter covers 5 parts,which are analysis of bibliography stylistic and linguistic style,analysis of parallel text,analysis of original text,reference books and proper nouns translation and translation theories;the forth chapter is the core chapter of this report which analyzes in detail of the different translation strategies,like,conversion translation,liberal translation,amplification translation,omission translation,affirmative and negative translation applied in cases from word level,sentence level,four-character structure and rhetoric translation;the fifth chapter summarizes the highlights of the report,places needing improvement and modification strategies.
