A Performance Analysis Of Poulene’s Clarinet And Piano Sonata Op.184

Francis Jean Marcel Poulenc(January 7,1899-January 30,1963),the French composer,pianist and member of the French "Les Six".He is not only one of the important French composers in the 20 th century but representative of Neoclassicism music.Clarinet and Piano Sonata,Op.184,is the only work Poulenc created for clarinet and piano,also one of the last stages works of his life.In this paper,the key points and difficulties are explained through both the analysis of sonata structure and the combination of his own playing experience,besides which the performance versions of different performers are compared.To make the player understand and master the sonata more comprehensively,it has certain guiding significance to provide some basis and suggestions for the teaching of the sonata.
