The movement of the deism was the product in the loosen thinking environment after the 17 th and18th century bourgeois revolution.People's attention to religion showed a tendency to look for religious basis in addition to apocalypse Under the influence of the Enlightenment and the development of natural science, the deists regarded reason as the basis of religion. But in Hume's view, reason can not become the basis of religion.Hume's view of religious philosophy is mainly critical.Hume profoundly criticized the existence of God from the point of view of reason and faith.Hume's religious philosophy also has positive significance.Hume was not an atheist. He admits that the obvious natural order shows the existence of God and puts forward the idea of "True Religion".This paper attempts to sort out Hume's religious philosophy by analyzing the relevant works of Hume's religious philosophy and the research results of Hume's religious philosophy in China and abroad. The efforts of the deists to construct Christianity on the basis of reason have exposed the defects of reason, which has also been questioned and criticized by Hume who has also sharply criticized the theory of cosmology and the theory of orthodoxy. As a Christian doctrine,"miracle" justifies God's reality, but the "miracle" itself is full of contradictions. It is shown that miracles cannot become the basis of any religion through the logical analysis of the concept of "miracle" and the experience of its occurrence within the scope of facts.Reason cannot become the basis of religion.Hume thinks that religion originates from human life emotion.Superstition and fanaticism in popular religion can not only fail to strengthen the belief of religion, but also produce a series of bad effects on religion, which is the manifestation of "corruption" of religion. Therefore,in order to distinguish him from the false religion,Hume put forward the "true religion" to discuss his view of the existence and attribute of God." True Religion" is different from "vulgar religion" in Hume's view.It has no dogmatic content and the faith of God exists on the basis of the tendency of human nature and the true religion is beneficial to society in terms of its function and can purify man's soul and maintain social order.
