| Initiation novel,also known as Bildungsroman,was originated from Germany in the late 18 th century,it is one of the mainstream genres of Western modern literature.This kind of novel focuses on the transformation of the main character in terms of physical and mental change.Poetic novel was firstly started from French Symbolist Poetry,a type of novel combines narration and poetry,it has been widely spread in the field of Western novel,as well as in the Chinese modern literature.Cao Wenxun,the very first one who brought in the concept of 'Initiation literature' and 'Initiation novel',was one of the most important writers of initiation novel in the 1980 s and 1990 s.Cao dedicated himself into the creation of poetic novel skills and utilized the skills in his works,which makes his novel of high artistic value.The poetic narration in Cao's initiation novel mainly manifests the huge construction of poetic image,such as the symbolic image of classic artistic conception.Currently,domestic academia has made some accomplishment and exploration for initiation novel,but very few aimed at Cao's poetic narration in his novels,which has resulted in the lack of relevant theories and practices.This essay focuses on Cao's initiation novel,systematically analyze and explore the poetic image and poetic narration for further research.In Cao's Bildungsroman's,we can find lots of poetic image: the life image,the dream imagery,and the image of the guide.Then we can see the characteristics,perspectives and language of Cao's Bildungsroman.First,we expound the romantic characteristics of his Bildungsroman,then expound the children's perspective in the novel,and finally expounds his poetic and picturesque language.Cao is a writer,as well as a researcher,although his masterpiece is of great value,we still can find some limitations in Cao's Bildungsroman,which involves the tendency of universal suffering,creation and beautification of misery,lack of growth motif,and the difficulty of sending alienation. |
