The Study On Common People's Buddhist Belief Of The Boxing In Fifth And Sixth Centuries

Longhua Temple site in Boxing County of Shandong Province which had been found the largest ancient temple sites in Wei Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties.Since 1920 s,Longhua steles and other Buddhist relics have been excavated in the Longhxingua temple site,causing the great attention of the academia and Buddhist circle.The papers is divided into three chapters,taking the unearthed recordation Buddhism statue of Longhua Temple site as the research center to discusses a series of problems.The first chapter research of the gold copper,white pottery and stone Buddhist statues and other relics in Longhua temple sites,and to introduces that the cultural relics department had carried out 5 times archaeological investigation from 1984 to 2007.The study also found out that Longhua temple was rebuilt on the ruins of the ancient Ryuka Ashram in 607,at the same time the Longhua steles had been caved to commemorate the completion of Longhua temple.In 611,the Longhua temple was destroyed by the peasant uprising in Shandong.The second chapter research of the unearthed recordation Buddhism statues of Longhua Temple,that discussed the space-time from fifth to sixth century in Boxing,Shandong.Further to analyzed the structure of the unearthed recordation Buddhism statues which relates to the themes of the people's statues,the types of people's statues and the identity of the people.The study found it may because the Shandong area was not affected by the two times Extermination of Buddhism,thus some unearthed relics in Northern Zhou dynasty could be presented.And by the rapid development of Longhua temple which could caught a glimpse of the influence on Buddhist prosperity of the fifth to sixth century in Shandong area.The third chapter through the unearthed recordation Buddhism statues of Longhua Temple to trace back the connotation of the Buddhist belief of the people in Boxing area from fifth to sixth century.By the investigation of people enshrined statues theme in fifth to sixth century at Boxing for further study on the Buddha,Maitreya,Vairocana,Guanyin statue,and the characterization of other Buddha and Bodhisattva which were popular belief in that period.Through the unearthed recordation Buddhism statues the activities of the people can be see,and to analyze these two characteristics: non systematic and realistic were both in people's Buddhist beliefs.
