The paper,a mock simultaneous interpreting report, focuses on Hilary Clinton's anti-terrorism speech at University of Minnesota on 15th,December,2015 and Obama's anti-terrorism speech at MacDill AFB on 6th,December,2016.Delivered just after terrorist attacks in Paris and California, and aimed at recalling the anti-terrorism situation and missions during the last eight years, these two speeches served as an indicator of America's standpoint and measures about anti-terrorism,thus playing a vital role in today's anti-terrorism campaign to some extent. On the basis of the Effort Model put forward by Denial Gile, the writer conducted a mock simultaneous interpreting, trying to find problems and difficulties in the simultaneous interpreting of the text of anti-terrorism.Based on a detailed analysis of these problems and difficulties, solutions are proposed in light of the coordination between listening and analysis,short-term memory and speech production, and corresponding methods are worked out.The paper is divided into four parts. The first part is about task description,a brief introduction of the background and significance of this study. The second part regarding preparation for interpreting consists of two segments:the preparation of texts covers a good knowledge of text and spokesman, related terminology collection in the field of anti-terrorism and sufficient parallel text interpreting rehearsal;as for the supporting interpreting theory for the study,a detailed introduction about the Efforts Model is provided. The third part considered as the most significant part of the study is case analysis.Under the guidance of the Effort Model, the paper aims at providing reasonable interpreting skills and methods to tackle difficulties in simultaneous interpreting and facilitate interpreting in the future with enhanced listening comprehension,short-term memory and speech production. The conclusion part provides an objective evaluation about this mock practice with suggestions for future study.
