Study On The Development Of Confucius Institute In Hanoi University

With the rapid development of China's strength,the popularity of Chinese language continues to increase throughout the world.In order to meet the needs of Chinese-speaking groups and promote the spread and influence of Chinese language and culture,the Chinese Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters has established Confucius Institutes overseas.Since the establishment of the first Confucius Institute in Seoul,South Korea,in 2004,by the end of2017,China has established 525 Confucius Institutes and 1113 Confucius Classrooms in 146countries/regions.The speed of its development has attracted worldwide attention,and the research on Confucius institutes has become the focus of academic circles.This article is to study Confucius Institute at Hanoi University.In December 2014,the first Confucius Institute in Vietnam was unveiled at Hanoi University and became the only Confucius Institute in Vietnam.Since its establishment,Confucius Institute has hardly carried out any publicity and activities within a year.By the end of 2015,the development of the Confucius Institute in Vietnam began to improve,but the direction of activities with other Confucius Institutes was special,namely cultural activities,and teaching activities were vice.What is the current situation of Confucius Institute development in Vietnam? What are the main problems encountered in the development of Confucius Institute in Hanoi University of Vietnam? How do these problems affect the growth of Confucius Institute in Hanoi University? How to solve these problems and build a healthy Confucius Institute? This article uses literature analysis,interviews,and quantitative analysis as research methods to describe and analyze the problems encountered by the Confucius Institute in Vietnam from various aspects and angles,and put forward relative suggestions.The study found that the Confucius Institute at Hanoi University met with issues such as teaching and cultural activities,publicity effect,mainstream reporting trends,and people's understanding and cooperation during the development process.Through the analysis of these issues we identify the reasons and propose appropriate solutions.It is hoped that this will help the Confucius Institute grow healthily and complete its task of teaching Chinese and spreading beautiful and splendid Chinese culture.
