Research On The Theme And Narrative Strategy Of Cao Zhi’s Luo Shen Fu

Cao Zhi as the most prominent author of the Wei dynasty in the period of the Three Kingdoms is the outstanding representative of Jian-An authors and the epitome of Jian-An literature.The Luo Shen Fu is the highlight chapter of the numerous essays indited by Cao Zhi.And the literary writers of the past dynasties have paid great attention to this article because of the particularity of Cao Zhi’s identity.In this paper,we selected the article about the goddess of Luo river as the object to investigate its historical acceptance,the reasons behind the subject derivation in his acceptance history.Furthermore,the narrative strategy of this article was analyzed by means of text interpretation.Finally,we explored the extent to which such a classical narrative structure influences the misreading and interpretation of future generations’ needs.The first chapter has studied the acceptance history of Luo Shen Fu in which it is pointed out that the image of Luo Shen is constantly being strengthened in the literary narration of the readers in Wei and Jin dynasties to North and South dynasties.The reader’s sense of Luo is embodied as the direction of the love theme of “Zhen Shi” in the period of the Tang Dynasties to Song Dynasties.Readers in the Ming and Qing Dynasties put forward political themes based on the theme of love.Readers in modern times tend to multidimensional interpret the theme of Luo Shen.The second chapter accounts for Cao Zhi’s life experience,the origin and nature,and the creation time.The theme of "feeling screening" and the theme of desire hidden behind this statement are discussed in the third chapter.From the ideal of the scholar bureaucrats to the taste of the city,Luo Shen Fu caters to the aesthetic needs of the city culture and thus it has become the object of some people’s masturbation.Cao Zhi used mythical narrative strategy to construct a perfect mythological world in Luo Shen Fu to escape the reality of suffering.The fourth chapter makes a study of the political theme and the narrative strategy of Luo Shen Fu.We can see the repression of his political ideal under the authoritarian rule and the multiple mirrors of his failure under the family ideology through the analysis of Cao Zhi’s game of power consciousness.The analysis of the alternative strategies of political narration reveals that Cao Zhi appeals to literary power to manifest his political ideal.In the fifth chapter,the emotional theme and narrative strategies of "Luo Shen Fu" are written.Behind the "emotional theory",Cao Zhi seeks spiritual comfort after his bereavement and the strong man’s resistance to his own weakness and incompetence.The last chapter briefly discusses the significance and influence of the theme construction of the Luo Shen Fu,and explores the language and the hidden dreams of the literati,as well as the reverberation of the theme of Luo Shen Fu"in the art of calligraphy and painting.
