Hesse’s Poems Acceptance And Transformation Of Chinese Ideology

Herman Hesse’s poetry is an important literary crystallization of the study of Orientalism from the late 19 th to the early 20 th century in Europe.His poetry contains rich Chinese wisdom.Through the treatment of the relationship between the universe and nature,and the absorption of life and death issues in Chinese wisdom,he continues to make tireless artistic thinking about how people exist.This thesis takes Hesse’s poetry as the object of study,combines his novels,prose works,and the time and environment factors to intertextualize the Chinese thought embodied in the poetry,and objectively analyze it and China in different periods.Cultural relations.Through analyzing the texts of Hesse’s poetry,we can understand Hesse’s acceptance and transformation of Chinese culture,the impact of Chinese culture on poet Hesse,and the value of Chinese culture in solving the crisis of European beliefs in the context of contemporary culture.This thesis is divided into four chapters.The introduction part summarizes Hesse’s life creation,the origin of the thesis and its significance.The first chapter introduces the connection between his poetry and Chinese culture.The individual existential crisis manifested in Hesse’s poetry,that is,the dualistic understanding of the crisis and its derivative confusion ofimpermanence and eternal conflict.The Chinese complex of the Hesse’s poetry is to gain a solution to the crisis of understanding through an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture.The second chapter is to clarify the process of the specific exploration of Hesse’s poetry from recognizing crisis to unity theory.From the exploration of misunderstandings to the theory of oneness,the problem of human existence is solved from the perspective of methodology.Chapter Three,Hesse’s exploration of how people exist from the perspective of epistemology,is Hesse’s "Doctrine of the Mean".The fourth chapter summarizes the ideological value and limitations of Hesse’s poetry.Hesse’s poetry is not only the carrier for understanding natural philosophy,but also the poetry expression of the Eastern exploration in the 20 th century.In the process of understanding Chinese thoughts,Hesse’s poetry realizes the artistic pursuit of integration of poetry and individuals with the external world,and achieves the harmonious world of individual life and the universe.However,Hesse’s critique of European ideas is repetitive.Therefore,there are repetitions and variability in the understanding of Chinese culture.
